Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP
  • Business fluency in German and English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly developed attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update accounting records and files
  • Perform daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaid, account reconciliations and analyzing financial transactions in compliance with German GAAP and IFRS
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
  • Maintain fixed assets ledger and reconciliation to GL
  • Manage customer and vendor data in NetSuite
  • Assist in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP, and that internal policies and procedures are followed
  • Help with the preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analyses
  • Reconcile bank activity
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including underlying support
  • Support with audit fieldwork and VAT filings
  • Ad hoc projects as needed
