Summary

HONK is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various financial tasks including month-end closing, bank and general ledger account reconciliations, invoice processing, and data analysis. Preferred experience includes a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 2+ years of experience managing and processing financial information, proficiency in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and ERP systems like Sage Intacct, SAP, or Oracle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2+ years experience managing and processing financial information

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the preparation of journal entries during month-end closing
• Execute comprehensive daily, monthly, and annual bank and general ledger account reconciliations
• Apply payments received to correct client account invoices daily
• Review outstanding invoices for collections; ensure all outstanding items were valid
• Collaborate with the Controller on special projects
• Process invoices for wire/ach/check disbursement
• Assist in resolving payables issues
• Conduct thorough analysis of financial transactions to identify and rectify inaccuracies
• Uphold a rigorous monthly reporting schedule
• Generate ad-hoc reports as necessitated by management

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid grasp of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle)
• Adeptness in utilizing data analysis tools and exhibit advanced proficiency in Excel
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, accompanied by strong analytical capabilities
• Preference for navigating high-growth startup environments characterized by evolving policies and procedures
