Summary

The Staff Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager in various financial and accounting tasks at Unlock Health, a healthcare marketing agency that connects managed care and marketing to improve patient care. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance, strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, and excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update the general ledger by recording transactions, adjustments, and journal entries
• Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Accounts Receivable: Follow up on overdue payments. Reconcile customer accounts regularly
• Data Entry and Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting systems. Maintain organized and well-documented financial records
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations. Stay informed about changes in accounting standards
• Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certification (e.g., CPA or ACCA) is a plus
