Summary

Join HashiCorp's R&D Operations group as a Staff Technical Program Manager, focusing on Atlassian tooling and R&D productivity. You will develop and implement a comprehensive roadmap for Atlassian tool usage, design and lead Jira framework implementation, incorporate AI technologies for workflow automation, and create a governance model for process consistency. Responsibilities include developing change management strategies, producing documentation and training materials, tracking engagement metrics, and mentoring the TPM team. This role requires extensive experience with Atlassian tools, strong analytical skills, and expertise in driving cultural change. The position is remote within the US.

Requirements

  • Experience developing a vision to leverage technology, including Jira and beyond, for enhancing productivity across R&D operations. This includes architecting and executing on strategies that significantly improve process efficiencies
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing enterprise-level Atlassian implementations, governance models, and optimization projects, ideally within organizations of comparable size and complexity
  • Advanced proficiency in Jira administration, automation, data analysis and reporting, and configuration of workflows and dashboards, with knowledge of related tools like, Jira Product Discovery, Confluence and Jira Align to support cross-platform solutions
  • A solid understanding of product and software development principles, technologies, and best practices
  • Experience in driving cultural change and promoting continuous improvement through structured enablement and training strategies
  • Strong analytical skills, a second-order thinker who can evaluate alternatives, and make data-driven decisions
  • Expertise in building and maintaining knowledge management systems to support centralized documentation and training resources
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels with compelling narratives and a collaborative approach
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity with a strong bias for action and delivering measurable results
  • Experience working with global or distributed teams, demonstrating effectiveness across time zones and diverse cultural settings

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive roadmap for the R&D organization's use of Atlassian tooling, detailing strategic initiatives and timelines
  • Design and lead the implementation of a standardized, scalable, and efficient Jira framework that supports robust product and software development processes
  • Ensure that tool configurations, workflows, and dashboard setups meet organizational goals and adhere to industry best practices
  • Regularly evaluate these configurations to align with evolving business needs and technological advancements
  • Incorporate AI technologies to automate and enhance the efficiency of Atlassian workflows, data analysis, and decision-making processes within the R&D organization
  • Lead or participate in projects that utilize AI to optimize Jira and other Atlassian tool functionalities
  • Create and operationalize a governance model to maintain process consistency, support continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities
  • Develop and implement the change management and enablement strategies, training programs, and communication plans to drive adoption of improved Atlassian tooling and practices
  • Produce process documentation, training materials, and knowledge hubs to support sustained adoption and a smooth transition to enhanced Atlassian tooling and practices
  • Track engagement metrics, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with key organizational objectives and performance KPIs
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to our TPM team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven capability in implementing AI for productivity within a software engineering environment. This includes having led or actively participated in the design, build, or maintenance phases of AI-driven projects focused on process automation and improvement
  • Solid understanding of the technical, legal, and practical considerations involved in training large language models (LLMs). Ability to evaluate and implement training approaches that achieve desired productivity outcomes, ensuring alignment with ethical standards and industry best practices
  • Change management certifications like PROSCI or ACMP, showcasing expertise in driving organizational change and adoption
  • Familiarity with SaaS or multi-cloud product environments, providing context for technical and operational challenges
  • Knowledge of additional Atlassian tools, such as Jira Product Discovery, Jira Align, Confluence, and Trello
  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools like Tableau, Sigma or Power BI
  • A technical background or scripting experience for advanced Jira automation and API integrations
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and incident management workflows
