Summary
Join Ontra, a leading AI legal tech company, as a Staff User Experience Designer! Reporting to the Senior Director of UX, you will lead key initiatives to design intuitive user experiences for clients and legal partners. This role requires 8+ years of UX/product design experience, a proven track record of success, and strong collaboration skills. You will leverage user research, data, and our design system to create seamless experiences across our software solutions. Requirements
- 8+ years experience in user experience and product design, including user discovery, prototyping, empowering teams, and using data to inform decisions, ideally in an agile environment
- Proven success record as an advanced performer with a record of delivering successful projects with various teams
- Ability to effectively influence decisions and communicate across the business
- Ability to collaborate and engage the entire development team (Product, Engineers, QE) to understand the problems being solved, and include them in the ideation process
- Ability to design systematically (with best practices in mind)
- Ability to think about how features interact with the product as a whole and how it fits into the larger suite of products
Responsibilities
- Own core initiatives, collaborating with senior team members
- Become an expert in your area and a go-to resource for information and advice
- Use research and data to inform feature development, including leading discovery, analyzing feedback, and using qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions
- Design simple and efficient mockups and prototypes using our design system to help communicate ideas and inform development decisions
- Take the lead on understanding customer pain points, driving and collaborating on team and product priorities, validating design ideas, advocating for usability improvements, and facilitating design activities
- Ensure all features maintain a consistent experience to create a sense of a unified platform
- Contribute to teams' shared knowledge of UX best practices
- Share feedback to designers on teammates' designs in a constructive and supportive way
- Mentor junior and mid-level designers and coach them on hard and soft skills
