Sustainability Research Intern

Join Datamaran, a leader in smart ESG solutions, as a Sustainability Research Intern for a 3+ month internship (part-time or full-time). This role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge sustainability technology, focusing on analyzing Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) reports and contributing to data-driven insights. You will support the ESG intelligence platform by tracking and analyzing corporate disclosures, uploading reports, identifying key sections, reviewing AI-assisted extractions, and ensuring accuracy. The ideal candidate enjoys structured tasks, close reading, and contributing to high-impact sustainability analysis. This internship provides valuable experience in sustainability and technology, with professional networking opportunities. A fixed monthly allowance is provided.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to digest and summarise complex information
• Interest in corporate sustainability and ESG regulations (knowledge of CSRD is a plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for sustainability and technology

Responsibilities

• Search corporate websites for financial and sustainability reports
• Upload and organise reports in our database
• Identify key report sections (e.g. strategy, risk, governance)
• Review AI-assisted extractions of Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities (IROs) from CSRD-aligned reports
• Ensure accuracy through manual review and annotation

Preferred Qualifications

• First-hand experience in sustainability reporting and regulatory analysis
• Exposure to leading sustainability and ESG frameworks
