Summary
Join SketchDeck, a global, fully remote creative agency, as our Talent Operations Manager. You will play a vital role in optimizing our hiring, onboarding, and talent relationship management processes. This position requires proficiency in English and Spanish, along with a deep understanding of the creative industry and agency experience. You will oversee HQ and contractor hiring, onboarding, and engagement, ensuring a seamless experience for all new hires. Success will be measured by contractor utilization, hiring efficiency, onboarding timeliness, and contractor engagement. This role reports to the Business Operations Director and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Requirements
- Proficient in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) to assist with global hiring, onboarding, and talent operations
- Deep expertise in the creative industry, a strong understanding of creative roles and workflows, and the ability to assess and align talent with project needs
- Experience in an agency setting, whether in talent operations, HR, or a prior creative role that shifted to an operations-focused position
- Demonstrated expertise in managing hiring, onboarding, and talent engagement, ensuring smooth candidate experiences, seamless integration, and continuous visibility for contractors
- Strong talent management skills, including monitoring contractor availability, proactively aligning talent with projects, and maintaining engagement with active and bench contractors
- The ability to enhance and develop hiring and onboarding processes, ensuring they are efficient, well-documented, and communicated to teams so that new hires integrate smoothly
- A proactive, strategic mindset—you don’t just identify problems. You propose solutions, suggest the next steps, and take initiative to solve challenges before they escalate
- Autonomous yet highly collaborative, capable of independently driving hiring, onboarding, and talent management while effectively partnering with leadership, hiring managers, and recruiters
Responsibilities
- Manage the applicant experience, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and smooth progression through the hiring pipeline
- Oversee HQ and contractor hiring, keeping the ATS (Workable) updated, tracking approvals, and ensuring roles are filled efficiently
- Support hiring managers in writing inclusive job descriptions aligned with SketchDeck’s employer brand and role requirements
- Partner with 24 Seven recruiters to ensure alignment, smooth collaboration, and a strong candidate experience
- Participate in resume reviews and interviews, ensuring candidates meet job requirements and hiring quality is maintained
- Monitor key hiring metrics and ensure SketchDeck’s hiring process is equitable and inclusive
- Provide weekly hiring reports to hiring managers on open roles, progress, and flag issues
- Continuously review and improve hiring processes for efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business goals
- Train HQ team members on hiring best practices and processes to ensure consistency and fairness in recruitment
- Own the new hire journey for HQ employees and contractors, providing high-touch support from pre-boarding through post-onboarding check-ins to ensure a smooth transition
- Collaborate with hiring managers and department leads to complete all onboarding tasks and fully integrate new hires
- Support the onboarding and resource integration of 24 Studios and future acquisitions, ensuring smooth cultural and operational alignment
- Proactively connect contractors with project managers, design directors, and relevant teams to facilitate project opportunities
- Ensure Express work contractors are correctly onboarded and transitioned to active status when applicable
- Maintain a higher touchpoint with all new hires, making onboarding an engaging and supportive experience
- Continuously improve onboarding by gathering and acting on feedback from new hires and hiring managers
- Work with the Human Resource Coordinator to keep onboarding process documentation accurate and up to date
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors to ensure they feel valued and connected
- Partner with project managers, design directors, and business development to stay aligned on evolving talent needs and upcoming opportunities
- Regularly check in with contractors, gauge their interest in ongoing projects, address concerns, and ensure talent doesn't go overlooked after onboarding
- Collaborate closely with project managers and design directors to optimize project assignments, ensuring a balance between business needs and contractor preferences
- Maintain and update the agency directory and talent dashboard
- Coordinate an annual contractor profile review and an audit with project managers and design directors to verify that all information is correct
- Collaborate with the tech team to implement agency directory updates and suggest skills and tools that should be revised as our capabilities grow
- Support the Community Manager and Director of Business Operations in talent management efforts as needed
- Oversee and execute offboarding processes for employees and contractors, ensuring compliance and completing necessary steps
- Ensure departing employees and contractors receive clear guidance and a smooth transition
