Technical Writer

Summary

Join our team as a Senior Technical Writer in the PlatformOne software technology industry, based in San Antonio, TX (hybrid remote). You will create clear and accurate technical documentation for software products and systems, ensuring content meets industry standards. Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to gather information and maintain documentation. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, 5-6 years of experience, and proficiency in technical writing tools. Texas residency is required. The primary work will be completed remotely.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field
• Proven experience 5-6 yrs as a Technical Writer
• Proficiency in technical writing tools and software such as Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or version control systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments

Responsibilities

• Develop technical documentation including user manuals, installation guides, and technical specifications for PlatformOne products and systems
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and validate technical content for accuracy, completeness, and clarity
• Ensure all documentation adheres to industry standards, regulations, and best practices
• Maintain version control and organize documentation in a structured manner for easy access and retrieval
• Conduct reviews and audits of technical documentation to identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, or outdated information
• Provide support to internal teams, customers, and stakeholders by answering inquiries and clarifying technical information as needed
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality assurance, and product management to gather information and ensure accuracy of technical content
