Technical Writer

Summary

Join Tecsys' Elite Documentation Team as a Technical Writer Intern for a 4-month internship (September 2nd - December 19th, 2025)! Work closely with other Technical Writers and R&D teams in a remote-first environment. Gain experience in the entire release process, developing content for various user types (internal, end users, administrators, developers). Contribute to documentation for applications ranging from warehouse management to hospital point of use. This internship offers valuable experience in technical writing and exposure to a dynamic, growing company.

Requirements

• Strong writing skills (we will want to see examples preferably of a technical nature)
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to learn and take a proactive approach
• Curious technical aptitude – you don’t need to be a developer, but you do need to know how to communicate effectively and understand baseline concepts
• Strong multitasker
• Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec

Responsibilities

• Copy edit existing documentation
• Use AI tools to enhance documentation
• Create short videos explaining new features
• Work with source files in a GIT repository
• Update company-facing documentation for internal users
• Participate in meetings with QA, developers and product managers
• Create/maintain API documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with agile software development practices
• Familiarity with basic Git operations (committing, merging, branching)
• Experience with authoring tools such as oXygen, Structured FrameMaker, XMetaL
• Understanding of structured authoring and DITA concepts
• Exposure to REST APIs
• Exposure to Visual Studio
• Strong understanding of French
