UX Writer

Summary

Join Figma's growing team and become a lead UX writer/content designer for Dev Tools, focusing on enhancing the developer experience within and outside Figma products. You will contribute to product strategy, refine storytelling around product needs, and collaborate with various teams. This role involves creating and iterating on user experiences, partnering with design to ship high-quality products, and overseeing language across a product suite. The position is full-time, based in New York or remotely on the East Coast. Figma offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience crafting UX, whether in content, design, or engineering
• A proven understanding of the English written language and its role in crafting high-quality UX
• A strong understanding and familiarity with common coding concepts and languages
• An eye/ear for cohesive, intuitive storytelling, and for high-quality, well-crafted design
• Experience working independently to explore information architecture, mental models, and content
• Demonstrated ability to craft simple language solutions to highly complex user problems

Responsibilities

• Contribute to overall product strategy around Figma’s developer experience
• Help deliver and refine clear storytelling around product needs and opportunities
• Work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, design, writing, and research peers
• Create, collaborate, and iterate on the user experience—content, flows, and prototypes
• Partner with design to ship high-quality product experiences and improvements
• Oversee language across a broad product suite, building taxonomies, glossaries, and other artifacts in support

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a software engineer, design engineer, or other developer role
• Experience as a UX designer, creative technologist, or other design-centric role
• A generative spirit, and excitement about coming up with novel, simple solutions and language
• A track record of leading 0-to-1 initiatives
