As VP of Brand, you will own Freebird's brand image across all platforms, translating product superiority into a premium brand experience that fosters awareness, trust, and loyalty. You will lead both brand strategy and creative, ensuring every customer touchpoint is cohesive and unmistakably Freebird. This position is ideal for a growth-minded brand builder who can leverage design, creative, and messaging to drive business growth, acquire retail shelf space, and cultivate long-term customer loyalty. The role involves defining the brand's identity, overseeing creative direction, leading messaging strategies, expanding brand awareness beyond paid channels, ensuring premiumization and expansion readiness, and fostering a strong brand community.
Requirements
- 8+ years building and scaling consumer brands (DTC, CPG, lifestyle, beauty, or similar)
- Proven success blending brand strategy, design leadership, and messaging to create unified, high-impact brands
- Expert in art direction, photography direction, and creative production for both digital and physical touchpoints
- Strong grasp of customer psychology and how design/messaging impact performance metrics
- Experience taking a product-led or performance-led brand and scaling it into a global, omnichannel leader
- Comfortable moving at startup speed, balancing strategy with hands-on execution
Responsibilities
- Define and codify Freebirdβs brand DNA β positioning, pillars, voice, and proof points
- Develop a cohesive visual identity system that works across paid, owned, earned, retail, and international
- Build a comprehensive brand book to guide internal teams, agencies, and partners
- Own art direction and creative oversight for all brand-led campaigns, shoots, packaging, and design assets
- Ensure performance creative feels distinctively Freebird without losing DR edge
- Create a consistent visual language that translates across DTC, retail, and global markets
- Lead messaging strategy across channels, ensuring clear, consistent, and emotionally resonant communication
- Mine customer insights, reviews, and VOC data to inform copy, offers, and brand narratives
- Create scalable messaging frameworks for acquisition, retention, and product launches
- Launch PR, partnerships, organic content, and influencer programs to diversify acquisition channels
- Build SEO and content strategies to capture branded and non-branded demand
- Secure earned media placements, product features, and awards that build trust
- Elevate packaging, retail displays, and unboxing to support premium pricing and shelf dominance
- Create a consistent, high-end experience that works for new categories beyond head shaving
- Adapt brand creative and messaging for cultural nuances in international markets
- Launch programs that turn customers into advocates β referral campaigns, UGC challenges, and cause marketing
