Workday Finance Project Specialist

Summary

Join our team as a Workday Finance Project Specialist and contribute to the ongoing Workday implementation. This role requires a finance professional with experience in accounting or financial analysis, or a Workday Finance expert with at least one full-scope Workday implementation under their belt. While system configuration is not part of this position, it plays a crucial role in ensuring the alignment of Workday Financials with business needs. You will report to the Director of Finance and collaborate closely with the Business Applications and Workday implementation teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting, OR 3+ years of experience as a Workday Finance analyst or consultant
• Participation in at least one full Workday implementation, with a focus on Financials
• Strong understanding of financial processes such as general ledger, accounts payable, expense management, and budgeting
• Excellent organizational skills with experience supporting project planning and execution
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functional teams

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Finance team during the design and validation of Workday Financials
• Provide insight based on system knowledge and/or accounting expertise
• Draft and refine future-state financial business processes in alignment with Workday capabilities and operational goals
• Lead or support planning, coordination, and execution of system testing activities, including test script preparation, tester alignment, and issue tracking
• Organize and facilitate finance-related project meetings, document decisions, and track action items
• Act as a liaison between Finance subject matter experts, system analysts, and project managers to ensure continuity and alignment throughout the implementation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or a hospital setting is preferred
• Familiarity with Workday Financials modules such as Banking & Settlement, Expenses, Customer Accounts, and Budgets is a plus
