Requirements

  • Demonstrated skill in cinematic camera placement and creating engaging scenes for a narrative-driven game experience
  • Understanding of game development processes
  • Familiarity with major game development engines, with a preference for Unreal Engine
  • Proficiency in camera animation tools, with a strong preference for Sequencer

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement camera systems for highly scripted and controlled cinematic moments within the game
  • Manage camera placements to enhance narrative scenes and ensure an impactful, purposeful viewer experience
  • Develop camera transitions that complement both gameplay mechanics and cinematic sequences
  • Work closely with the Presentation Lead and Game Director to create and land significant presentation moments through meticulous camera work
  • Proactively anticipate and resolve issues related to camera transitions in and out of gameplay
  • Utilize tools like Sequencer as the primary method for camera animation, ensuring high-quality cinematic flow
  • Maintain standards of cinematic excellence, aligning camera work with the game's artistic vision and narrative needs
  • Coordinate efforts across various departments to streamline camera integration and address production challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Contributed to successful 3rd person action-adventure games, particularly in cinematic design
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine and its cinematic tools like Sequencer
