PostHog

πŸ“Remote - United Kingdom

Summary

Join PostHog, a product-led, well-funded company shipping products for businesses, to increase the number of successful products globally. As a fully remote content team member, you will own top-of-funnel content, support product launches, monitor performance, maintain existing content, and inform best practices. The role requires strong SEO knowledge, writing and editing skills, and analytics expertise. The ideal candidate possesses a growth mindset, is tuned into new trends, and has good taste. PostHog offers generous compensation, unlimited time off, private medical insurance, pension contributions, parental leave, training budget, and other benefits.

Requirements

  • Strong SEO knowledge: You need to be familiar with popular tools, like Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and the new AI visibility platforms, as well as on-page and off-page best practices
  • Good writing and editing skills: Modern content marketing is all about being part-writer and editor and part-analyst. It's fine if you're stronger in one area than the other, and we can help you develop in all areas, but writing skills are non-negotiable
  • Analytics expertise: It doesn't matter so much what you've used in the past, just that you know what you're looking for. We use PostHog for all our analytics, but experience using any modern analytics tool will be helpful

Responsibilities

  • Own top-of-funnel content: This means writing, editing, and commissioning content that will increase awareness of PostHog, our products, and new launches. This could include high-intent landing pages like the best open-source analytics tools , product comparisons , or in-depth guides
  • Supporting product launches: If there's a new product or feature to shout about, there's a good chance you'll be involved in either writing and editing the content to support it, or coming up with the content plan for that launch. Examples include session replay pricing and our Series D fundraise announcement
  • Performance monitoring: You'll be on top of how our content is performing, unexplained drops in the traffic, what content converts to intent and/or conversions, and feeding that context to the team in an actionable way
  • Maintaining existing content: We have a long tail of content that needs regular maintenance to keep up-to-date and visible in search engines. You'll need to assess how to prioritize this work, and strong takes on how to improve everything incrementally
  • Informing best practices: Whether it's internal linking, or how we organise and tag content, we want some who will drive standards upwards in every area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical SEO fundamentals: This is mostly a content + analyst role, but a little technical knowledge (e.g. understanding crawl budgets, server-side vs client-side rendering, etc.) will be a very useful bonus
  • Already familiar with PostHog: Not necessary, but definitely useful. We use PostHog for everything
  • Social media skills : Writing for social media isn't a part of this role, but it'll be useful if you can contribute here
  • Experience managing freelancers and agencies: We don't currently work with external content contributors, but we don't rule it out
  • Experience at similar companies: We're interested in people from any content background, but experience working at B2B SaaS startups and scale-ups is a plus, especially if you've written for a software developer audience before

Benefits

  • Generous, transparent compensation and employee-friendly equity in PostHog
  • Unlimited time off with a 25-day minimum (in 2021 the team on average took 32 days off)
  • Private medical insurance , including dental and vision (US and UK only)
  • Pension/ 401k contributions (4% matching)
  • Generous parental, bereavement and child loss leave
  • Training budget and free books
  • $200/month budget towards co-working or cafΓ© working and $300/month for team socials
  • Spill mental health chat
  • $100/month budget to provide support to open-source projects
  • We'll be your first investor
  • Regular team off-sites (we went to Iceland in March) with carbon offsetting for work travel with Project Wren
