Summary

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for maintaining and operating work facilities, managing contracts with service providers, developing and reporting on facility budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations, planning space allocation, developing emergency response plans, promoting sustainability initiatives, and leading a team of facilities staff. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in facilities management, a bachelor's degree, proven ability to manage large projects, knowledge of health and safety regulations, proficiency in facilities management software, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is highly preferred
  • Proven experience in managing large, multi-site facilities
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, and manage multiple projects
  • Strong experience with large-scale office renovations, central plant equipment replacements, and interior/exterior improvements
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards
  • Proficiency in the use of facilities management software and other relevant tools
  • Working knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management
  • Experience in managing and developing teams, including recruitment, training, and performance management, is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large-scale projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally as required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds
  • Ensure that all facilities are in good working condition and meet health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with service providers
  • Develop, manage, and report on the facilities budget
  • Ensure that the facility complies with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Plan and manage the allocation of space within the facility
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans
  • Promote and implement sustainability initiatives within the facility
  • Manage and lead a team of facilities staff
  • Oversee facility-related projects
