Summary
Join our Education/Product team as an Instructional Designer to develop new courses and curricula for medical coding and billing. You will guide the course development process, collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design engaging online and hybrid learning experiences. This role requires expertise in instructional design theory and application, strong communication skills, and experience in developing online learning materials. You will manage timelines, deliverables, and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the development process. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of experience in instructional design for adult learning. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and contribute to the creation of high-quality educational resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Instructional Design Certificate, or related field
- 3+ years demonstrated success of instructional design experience in Adult Learning
- Strong writing, editing, technical troubleshooting, and organizational skills with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy are required
- Substantial experience in developing and delivering online materials and programs
- Strong project management skills; ability to meet project quality, cost and schedule commitments
- Excellent interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills
- Experience consulting with SMEs and other professionals on instructional design and related complex/technical issues
- Expertise in needs assessment and program evaluation
- Experience working remotely and internationally
- Experience working with subject matter experts
- Experience in eLearning authoring programs such as Adobe Suite, Articulate, and Camtasia
- Experience with learning management systems
Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of our organizational objectives and work with SMEs to create curricula aligned with these goals
- Working with identified SMEs: assess learning needs, develop learning objectives, design evaluations and assessments, specify instructional strategies, and select media/technologies to develop/implement
- Design “best in class” learning experiences by creating engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of learning
- Design and develop curricula in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Develop effective, measurable assessments
- Manage timelines, expectations, and deliverables with internal and external stakeholders throughout the development process
- Collaborate and build relationships with subject matter experts to develop skills-based training
- Perform quality assurance and summative program evaluation and implement changes
- Translate technical concepts into non-technical education for our members
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Instructional Design Master’s degree preferred
- Higher education experience preferred / a plus
- Medical coding experience a plus
