Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with prior experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, law enforcement, or a similar investigative environment
  • Strong understanding of legal concepts and processes, particularly in litigation, investigations, and zoning regulations
  • Excel at conducting thorough research, analyzing data, and solving complex problems effectively
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to discuss sensitive topics with external and internal stakeholders professionally and with discretion
  • High level of proficiency with Google Workspace
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
  • Exceptional accuracy and thoroughness in all work, especially when handling legal documents and data
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and communicate effectively about legal or potentially contentious matters
  • A proactive self-starter who thrives in ambiguous situations and can work independently without needing close supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills, time management abilities, and a problem-solving mindset, with comfort addressing high-stakes or complex issues

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, and manage documents and data to respond to litigation and investigative requests, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness
  • At the direction of in-house counsel, prepare materials for discovery and investigation requests, drawing from internal sources
  • Conduct internal investigations into alleged safety incidents at PadSplit homes, including speaking with members/tenants and homeowners as needed
  • Document and track safety investigations, maintaining detailed and organized records for future reference
  • Provide clear and timely communication to hosts, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and available resources in coordination with the Host Advocate team
  • Maintain and update a litigation and insurance claim tracker, recording case statuses, deadlines, and critical timelines to support timely legal responses
  • Monitor and manage a database of code enforcement notices, including communicating with hosts about these issues
  • Draft and send host communications to hosts about sensitive matters via Zendesk
  • Process and track invoices from outside counsel, ensuring accurate record-keeping
  • Support in-house counsel with other legal administrative tasks while upholding confidentiality and protecting sensitive data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with zoning or real estate
  • Familiarity with Zendesk and Slack
