Summary
Join Oportun's Marketing team as a Lifecycle Marketing Manager and drive multi-channel engagement across email, push, SMS, and in-app messaging for Oportun's mobile app. You will own the day-to-day operations of lifecycle marketing, ensuring campaigns run smoothly and automation workflows are optimized. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance customer journeys and drive long-term value. Success in this position demands a data-driven approach, strong technical skills, and experience with marketing automation platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about executing high-impact lifecycle marketing campaigns and refining strategies through data-driven insights. This is a remote position.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing, with a focus on mobile app engagement (preferably B2C or fintech)
- Hands-on experience with Iterable (preferred) or similar marketing automation platforms like Braze, Marketo, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Strong knowledge of push, in-app messaging, SMS, and email best practices, including segmentation and automation
- Strong technical proficiency (HTML, CSS, JSON, SQL and dynamic scripting languages like AMPscript or Handlebar logic)
- Proven ability to build & optimize lifecycle programs through automation, segmentation, and personalization
- Experience conducting A/B tests and optimizing automated workflows for mobile-first experiences
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple initiatives and prioritize for impact
Responsibilities
- Own and optimize lifecycle marketing campaigns across push, SMS, in-app messaging, and email to drive engagement, retention, and reactivation
- Manage and refine automated workflows for onboarding, activation, feature adoption, and ongoing engagement using real-time personalization and behavioral triggers
- Ensure platform stability and executional excellence across tools like Iterable, Twilio, and Branch, proactively troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Analyze performance metrics to measure campaign effectiveness, tying results to business outcomes, and continuously optimizing strategies
- Develop and implement a testing strategy to improve messaging, segmentation, automation, and engagement effectiveness across lifecycle campaigns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Growth, Engineering, Design, and Content, to align messaging with customer journeys and product updates
- Ensure operational excellence, maintaining compliance with legal, data privacy, and deliverability best practices while driving process improvements
- Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing innovative ideas and automation strategies to enhance lifecycle marketing effectiveness
