Summary
Join a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing research, care, and public awareness for individuals affected by ALS as a Development Manager. This remote position, based in the Eastern United States (with preference for Eastern Nebraska/Iowa), involves leading signature fundraising events and supporting community-based initiatives. You will be responsible for implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan, managing peer-to-peer events, recruiting volunteers, and collaborating with internal teams. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with experience in fundraising and event execution. A bachelor's degree is preferred, but equivalent experience is considered. The annual salary range is $49,440β$59,196, and benefits include health insurance, 401(k), disability and life insurance, wellness resources, and paid time off.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered
- At least 2 years of experience in: Fundraising and event execution
- At least 2 years of experience in: Volunteer engagement and donor stewardship
- At least 2 years of experience in: Public relations and sponsor cultivation
- Proficiency in using online fundraising platforms; ability to generate and interpret performance data
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good judgment in planning and prioritization; able to request guidance when appropriate
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Willingness to learn and use donor databases such as Salesforce or Luminate Online
- Availability to travel within the assigned region and to work occasional evenings or weekends
Responsibilities
- Implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet or exceed a $400,000 annual revenue goal
- Organize and manage peer-to-peer fundraising events, including a flagship walk campaign
- Recruit, support, and retain volunteer leaders, participants, donors, team captains, and committees
- Manage event logistics such as budgeting, permitting, site coordination, and vendor engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, programs, advancement) for campaign integration
- Represent the organization at community functions and networking events to increase awareness
- Coordinate printing and distribution of promotional and campaign materials
- Act as a key contributor to a larger, multi-state regional development strategy
- Support national initiatives focused on standardization, process efficiency, and teamwork
- Evaluate event performance weekly and adjust strategies in collaboration with the Development Director
- Attend regional events, team meetings, and other assigned activities
- Perform additional duties that support fundraising success and organizational mission
