Summary

Join Altarum's Division of Population Health as a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Senior Project Manager, overseeing a portfolio of MCH projects and serving as Project Director on large federal government contracts. This role involves supervising staff, managing project work, and driving new business development. You will establish and maintain client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and act as Project Director as needed. The position requires significant experience in MCH policy and programming, project direction, and staff management. A Master's degree in public health or a related field is preferred. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public health or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of work experience, including specific experience in Title V and other maternal and child health (MCH) policy and programming
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience directing projects and managing staff
  • Expertise in MCH workforce development, health disparities, early childhood, and child/adolescent health
  • Experience in MCH and early childhood systems
  • Experience working with mid-level and senior clinical and/or administrative leaders in diverse settings
  • Experience providing technical assistance to federal and state agencies implementing policies and programs to improve MCH

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan, conduct, and technically direct complex, cross-functional, and high-revenue projects, coordinating staff efforts
  • Demonstrate advanced subject matter expertise and leverage the broader capabilities of Altarum
  • Provide expert consultation and solutions for clients independently
  • Offer leadership and guidance to team members and lower-level PMs
  • Maintain an extensive network of contacts to assist with business development and funding efforts
  • Keep skills and knowledge of the focus area up to date through professional development and other educational methods
  • Supervise and mentor maternal and child health staff
  • Collaborate with the MCH and Sexual and Reproductive Health Program Director to lead strategy and innovation for the MCH focus area
  • Provide thought leadership, subject matter expertise, and project/client management capabilities as needed
  • Lead federal, state, and philanthropic proposal efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in leading evaluations of MCH policy and programs
  • Experience managing, coordinating, or contributing to large-scale proposal efforts
  • Effective team leadership and mentoring experience
  • Proven ability to successfully lead teams to produce high-quality results for training and technical assistance projects
  • Ability to identify and lead teams to pursue strategies for new business growth
  • Successful provision of training and technical assistance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail; flexibility to manage multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under tight deadlines
  • Experience with facilitation of meetings, day-long convenings, and other working sessions
  • Experience with communicating results to funders, decision-makers, and lay audiences
