Summary

Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York (VRMNY) is a leading ophthalmology practice in the New York Metropolitan area. They are seeking a remote Medical Call Center Representative to join their team. The representative will assist patients with appointments, insurance, and other healthcare services, acting as a liaison between patients and providers when needed. The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills, computer skills, and at least one year of experience in a clerical field, preferably medical.

Requirements

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Have a pleasant telephone personality
• Computer skills with emphasis on accuracy of patient demographics information

Responsibilities

• Schedule all appointments in the assigned area according to the schedule of the providers
• Answer questions regarding scheduling of appointments and insurance protocols
• Relay telephone messages and appropriate charts to providers
• Register patients in an efficient and timely manner
• Follow all fiscal requirements
• Report to supervisor any problems regarding patients, insurances or appointments
• Establish an environment fostering patient satisfaction
• Serve as a facilitator for patients to receive needed healthcare services

Preferred Qualifications

• Insurance verification experiences
• 1 year experience in a clerical field, preferably medical
