Payroll Implementation Consultant

Summary

Join our team as a Tax Consultant to provide daily administrative support and testing for our Workday environment. This role will support the existing payroll management team by pushing forward with UAT/End-to-End/Parrell testing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

• Must have UAT/Test payroll execution in UAT environment, 15,000+ employees
• Extensive knowledge of USA Payroll especially compliance rules (FLSA, tax calculations, earnings, deductions, pay groups, costing allocations, running Workday payroll reports, audit alerts, approval processes and security rules)
• Multi-State/Locality taxation (all 50 states)
• EIB transaction data uploads
• Audit processing experience to compare configurations and other required information
• Ability to create test cases and testing interfaces to various vendors and various systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact and collaborate effectively with existing Workday/KPMG implementation consultants
• Problem solver with ability to consider alternative and diverse perspectives
• 10+ years’ experience processing payroll, manager level required
• 7+ years’ Workday SME experience

Responsibilities

• Proficient in State and Local (Employer/Employee) Taxes, including State/Local Income Tax Withholding & Unemployment Taxes, with application across Remote/Hybrid/In-Office work settings
• Ability to review tax rate notices to determine required tax set up need in Workday
• Capable of identifying issues with Federal, State, and Local taxes by examining pay stubs
• Familiarity with Wage base limits to ensure accurate calculations of FUTA, FICA taxes, and SUI taxes
• Comprehensive understanding of complex employment tax rules, such as: Convenience of Employer Rules De-minimis and State Reciprocity Rules
• Ability to prepare basic excel files for Workday/KPMG team for automated data updates
