Summary
Join Zinc Network, a leading organization dedicated to impactful global change, as a Program Manager. Based in London or a project country, you will manage a strategic communications project focused on building resilience against disinformation in Global South countries. Working remotely up to three days a week, you will collaborate with a dynamic team, manage project administration, and report to the Team Leader. This role requires strong project management skills, experience with donor reporting, and a passion for media integrity. The ideal candidate will possess a relevant bachelor's degree, strong writing skills, and experience managing U.S. government-funded projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, journalism, regional studies, or another relevant field required
- Strong written and spoken proficiency in English required
- Experience with project management and administration, including budget management, donor reporting, contracting, invoicing and consultant management
- At least 3 years’ experience managing related programming
- A strong interest in media, information integrity, civil society development, and/or democracy-building required
- Superb attention to detail, strong writing skills and ability to work across multiple priorities
- Familiarity with major office software
Responsibilities
- Support and manage the project team to deliver across program activities. Collaborate with project leadership to ensure that all project management tasks, including daily workflows, project reporting, check-in meetings and internal learning function smoothly
- Provide regular written and oral updates to the donor, ensuring transparency and alignment with project objectives and milestones
- Chair meetings in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring continuity of discussions and project progress
- Collaborate with the Project Accountant and technical team to maintain forecasts and monitor levels of effort
- Oversee and execute the administrative aspects of the project to ensure smooth operations
- Responsible for tracking work progress by taking detailed minutes during meetings, preparing and distributing follow-up write-ups, monitoring action items, and ensuring timely updates and completion of tasks
- Compile team contributions and draft internal and external reports to update on the project
- Oversee the procurement process for consultants and service providers, serving as the primary point of contact for all related engagements
- Identify and escalate potential issues or risks to the Team Lead in a timely manner to ensure proactive resolution. Contribute to project expansion and development
- Contribute to written strategy documents, research reports and other project documents as required
- Represent Zinc at high-level meetings with clients, partner governments and project partners, while embodying the values of Zinc Network
- Opportunities to provide strategic input on partners' work, including regional research projects and strategic communication campaigns
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree strongly preferred
- Command of one or more regional languages a plus
- Experience implementing and reporting on U.S. Government-funded projects strongly preferred
