Summary

Join Preferred Home Care of New York as a Recruiting Specialist and develop recruitment strategies, source candidates, conduct interviews, and communicate hiring decisions. You will assist with the hiring and onboarding of Branch Operations staff, providing timely updates to the Recruiting Manager and other Hiring Managers. As a key team member, you will build talent pipelines, determine applicant requirements, attract applicants, and evaluate qualifications. You will also improve organizational attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices. The role requires proficient computer skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a valid driver's license. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but a High School Diploma or GED is required, along with one to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Builds talent pipelines by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements and using a variety of reactive and proactive recruiting techniques
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • When applicable, arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules
  • Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers, interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks
  • Meets and/or exceeds Recruiting Department and overall Organizational goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communication, or a relevant field
  • Prior experience in recruiting or talent acquisition
