Summary

Join Oportun as a Senior Director, Product Analytics and lead the analytics vision and strategy for financial products. Partner with various teams to align analytics with business goals, build and mentor a high-performing team, and develop key performance indicators (KPIs). Conduct A/B testing, enhance data pipelines, and translate complex data findings into actionable insights for senior executives. This role requires extensive experience in data analysis, proficiency in various analytical tools and programming languages, and strong communication and collaboration skills. Requirements

  • Experience: Over 15+ years of experience in data analysis and related roles
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with SQL, data visualization, and analytical tools
  • Proficiency: Skilled in data analysis tools and programming languages, including SQL, Python, and R, as well as data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Domo, and Power BI
  • Analytical Skills: Expertise in developing quantitative analyses, data-driven decision frameworks, cash flow and NPV modeling, ad-hoc reporting, and segmentation models. Adept at extracting meaningful insights from raw data to influence product decisions and strategic direction
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present insights effectively to executive leadership
  • Work Ethic: A self-starter with an ownership mindset, eager to thrive in fast-paced, startup environments
  • Statistical Knowledge: Solid understanding of statistical principles, including statistical significance and hypothesis testing

Responsibilities

  • Define the analytics vision and strategy for financial products
  • Partner with product managers, engineering, risk, marketing, and finance teams to align analytics with business goals
  • Build and mentor a high-performing analytics team
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial products (e.g., adoption rates, churn, revenue growth, conversion rates)
  • Conduct A/B testing and experimentation to improve product features and financial services
  • Partner with data engineering to enhance data pipelines, dashboards, and infrastructure and ensuring data quality, governance, and consistency across datasets
  • Translate complex data findings into business recommendations and influence strategic decisions by providing data-backed narratives
  • Present actionable insights to senior executives and stakeholders
  • Document findings, insights, and recommendations for product enhancements and communicate them effectively to stakeholders
