Summary
The Senior Event Manager role involves planning and executing events while leading a team of Event Managers. The position requires experience in managing large-scale events, strong leadership skills, proficiency in budget management, excellent time management skills, and problem-solving abilities. Requirements
- Experience in managing large-scale events
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and personalities
- Proficient in budget management and cost negotiations
- Excellent time management skills, capacity to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to implement solutions effectively under pressure
- Ability to be flexible when navigating the unforeseen, shifting priorities, accommodating diverse needs, and embracing change
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and management of multiple event types, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with budgets
- Coordinate with hotels and event venues, negotiate with vendors, presenter management, budgeting, and lead onsite support staff
- Lead and mentor a team of Event Managers, providing guidance and support in their operational and logistical responsibilities
- Train and onboard new staff and event managers
- Ensure team accountable to Solution Tree standards for event standards and procedures
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors, maintaining budget controls and optimizing event profitability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, customer service, sales, and logistics to enhance event success
- Facilitate effective communication and training within the team, ensuring all members are aligned with the latest updates and practices
- Act as a support event manager on-site during events, providing backup support and leadership to ensure smooth operations and immediate problem resolution
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications , recommended: CMP (Certified Meeting Planner)
