Summary
Join Sympower as a Trading and Operations Analyst and contribute to the company's mission of accelerating the global transition towards 'net-zero' by helping to build smarter, cleaner renewable energy systems. You will be responsible for day-ahead trading and real-time bid monitoring, optimizing revenues and minimizing operational costs. You will also monitor customer assets, ensure uptime, and act as the central point of contact for customer operations. Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Availability and willingness to work full time (40 hours) across different shifts (day, evening and weekends). Mainly starting with the evening shift
- Analytical and quantitative skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel and at intermediate level programming languages e.g. python, sql, etc
- Detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
- Self-starter: ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively in a high paced environment
- Interest in (short-term) energy markets
- Quantitative background: e.g. finance, engineering, maths
Responsibilities
- Optimising Sympower's assets and portfolio management
- Daily trade operations
- Monitor and analyze the market
- Trade adjustments, corrections, optimization of revenues, minimizing costs and fines
- Obtain information from customers required to bid (get forecasts, etc)
- Monitoring the availability of assets
- Create reports to show the results of trading and monitoring
- Working scheduled hours on the trading desk, approx 60% of your working time (as of current structure, that could potentially change). There are three shifts you will be working on together with your team mates
- Morning: 06-14:30 CET 30 min lunch weekdays
- Evening: 14:00-22:00 CET
- Weekends: 4 flexible hours Saturdays
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of energy and/or demand response markets
- Knowledge of BESS and/or RES markets
- Proficiency in another EU language (SE, GR, FI, ES, NL)
- Experience in finance processes/ invoicing
- Work or internship experience at a utility company, TSO, DSO or similar
