Requirements

  • Professional degree with 10 years of relevant business development experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector
  • Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques
  • Proven track record of success in business development roles within the aviation industry, with specific experience selling to DoD, OEMs and defense contractors
  • Deep understanding of the aerospace ecosystem, including knowledge of OEMs, suppliers, and regulatory frameworks
  • 5 years of direct experience working with DoD contracts
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of effectively leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence key decision makers at all levels of an organization
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to meet with partners and attend industry events

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-level industry research to develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and market penetration
  • Lead the Business Development team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, with a particular focus on negotiating and selling to OEMs and defense contractors
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the DoD and OEM partners, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with their strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key DoD personnel and stakeholders, leveraging insights to tailor solutions that meet government needs
  • Lead initiatives to secure defense contracts by aligning business development efforts with DoD acquisition strategies and priorities
  • Provide expert guidance and regulatory and compliance matters specific to defense contracting, mitigating risks and ensuring adherence to all relevant standards
  • Advocate and promote the company’s products and/or services to prospective clients, positioning us as a trusted and reliable partner
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and new opportunities for growth
  • Participate in collaborative business meetings to update key stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assess partnership opportunities and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements
  • Lead all major proposal activities, coordinating with the senior management team
  • Continuously assess team performance and implement strategies to optimize productivity and effectiveness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing sales or marketing teams
  • Experience with DoD program office activities
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or Finance
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
