Summary

Join VirtualResource (VR), a boutique consultancy, as an experienced Workday Functional Lead. You will lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday HCM solutions for clients. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, providing strategic guidance, managing deliverables, troubleshooting issues, mentoring teams, and engaging in the sales cycle. This remote role requires strong Workday HCM expertise and excellent communication skills. You'll manage your own day while meeting objectives and client demands, collaborating with on-site and remote team members. The ideal candidate possesses extensive Workday functional experience and proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Min of 3+ years of Workday Functional experience in HCM or related modules
  • 3 years of combined experience delivering functional solutions in a corporate environment
  • Experience leading Workday design sessions and facilitating process alignment workshops
  • Strong expertise in Workday configuration, including business processes, reporting, security, and tenant setup
  • Detailed understanding of ERP system concepts and module functionality across HCM, Absence, Payroll, Talent, and Time Tracking
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams, including business users and other technology stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Visio, MS Project (or equivalent), and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to map HR or Business needs to workday functionality
  • Ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, align HR / business knowledge with Workday functionality, and proactively drive process improvements
  • Comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Workday functional solutions
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients or service partners on best practices for Workday functionality
  • Manage functional deliverables associated with implementation projects
  • Facilitate troubleshooting and coordinate with other internal team members to resolve issues
  • Oversee and mentor small teams on multiple projects simultaneously, coaching them on Workday functional best practices
  • Engage where appropriate in the sales cycle to scope and estimate Workday HCM projects
  • Serve as the primary functional contact during client implementations for existing and new clients
  • Develop detailed documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, and business requirements
  • Conduct and oversee system testing, scenario testing, and validation of functional configurations
  • Manage system setup, analyze business processes, and align them with Workday functionalities
  • Coordinate cross-functional tasks and create/manage project plans. Assist in developing project scope documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • College or University Degree in HR or Information Systems
  • Workday Certification in HCM, Payroll, or other functional modules
  • Certifications in related methodologies or project management (e.g., PMP, Agile) are advantageous
