Summary
Join Brian & Associates as an Accounting Manager to support the financial operations of several startup clients within the e-commerce and consumer product market. In this role, you will collaborate with senior leaders to execute core accounting functions for three to five client teams and build out their accounting/finance infrastructure at the same time to support future growth.
Requirements
- Have excellent analytical, problem solving, and problem & trend identification skills
- Be extremely well organized, with attention to accuracy and detail
- Demonstrate strong judgment and independence on prioritizing competing deadlines and client needs
- Effectively communicate (written and verbal) financial concepts for an audience of varying financial understanding
- 5-7 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, some start-up experience preferred but not required
- CPA Certification preferred but not required
- Bachelor's, Associates, or Accounting Certification required
- Quickbooks and Bill.com experience required
- Experience with inventory accounting required, preferably within consumer product goods
- Experience with retail/wholesale revenue and operational accounting a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage cost of goods sold, inventory demand planning, and assist clients with ad-hoc pricing/margin analysis
- Support new client account onboarding and configure client accounting systems
- Develop client relationships through providing timely support and guidance in regularly scheduled client check-ins and day to day communication
- Manage retail operational accounting including, issuing invoices, reconciling discounts and chargebacks, collecting deposits and matching accounts receivables
- Track and manage reconciliation schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities/expenses, and deferred revenue
- Manage accounts payable and receivable and day to day client/vendor questions
- Support month-end accounting functions, including payroll, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger
- Prepare and assist with tax filings for W2s/1099s and sales tax
- Support the Controller in preparing financial reports and analysis for client leadership and coordinating work with external partners and investors
- Model best practices in all areas of the accounting and financial process in accordance with GAAP; collaborating with team members to analyze and streamline processes both internally and externally
