Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field - or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, customer success, sales engineering, or a related role, with a focus on onboarding and user adoption
  • Passion for technology and a deep understanding of DevSecOps culture and toolsets
  • Proven track record in executing growth marketing or PLG strategies and driving measurable results
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making
  • Strong copywriting skills across multiple channels and applications
  • Exposure to behavior psychology principles and curiosity about their application to marketing
  • Proficiency in A/B testing methodologies and practices
  • Proficiency with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), messaging platforms (e.g. Intercom, Qualified)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Agile marketing environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Create exciting ah-ha moments for our target persona from the moment they begin the trial experience throughout the free trial and beyond to post-sale
  • Develop and execute comprehensive onboarding strategies to drive user activation, engagement, and retention
  • Design personalized onboarding experiences that cater to different user personas and segments
  • Map out and intensely study the user journey so that you can continuously optimize from initial sign-up through to active and fanatical usage
  • Identify key touchpoints and create targeted campaigns to enhance user experience, immediate value realization, and frictionless ongoing adoption
  • Write copy and coach copywriters and Lifecycle Marketing Specialists in copywriting for email content, messaging and other use cases including call scripts
  • Partner with Product Marketing Managers, content creators, Inside Sales Representatives, UXD, and Growth Managers to create compelling onboarding content
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Representatives to gather direct insights and feedback from customer interactions to continuously improve content relevancy and effectiveness
  • Ensure all content is aligned with Sumo Logic’s brand voice and messaging as well as persona use cases and interests
  • Use data analytics to monitor and measure the effectiveness of onboarding campaigns
  • Become a knowledgeable super user of Sumo Logic tools for our own monitoring and best practices in the onboarding flow
  • Conduct constant A/B testing and iterate on strategies based on performance metrics and user feedback
  • Work closely with the product, engineering, sales, and customer success teams to align onboarding efforts with product updates and company goals
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, providing insights and feedback to internal teams
  • Partner with Marketing Operations and Sales Ops to leverage chat, messaging and automation tools to streamline and scale onboarding and nurture processes
